Ring of Justification of the Virtual Mummy

[ring]

The Egyptians believed in eternal life which they would lead in the hereafter. They imagined this world to be the mirror image of life on earth without any physical or material needs. To be admitted into this next world, the deceased has to pass the deaths' judgment by the god Osiris. It is examined whether life was conducted according to moral standards.

Plant material (in this case rush stems) woven into a ring were a symbol for a successfully passed deaths' judgement in Ptolemaic Age.

Described parts of the head: mask, ring of justification, linen cover, skull, ointment, stick, coffin.
