The VOXEL-MAN ENT surgery simulator provides a number of unique authoring tools which enable you to add custom contents to your simulator curriculum. These include the VOXEL-MAN My Cases module which allows you to create your own training cases from imported clinical or research CT data.
As a step further, you can also define your own surgical training tasks, based on the predefined (built-in) or on your own imported cases. To do so, an experienced surgeon performs a master preparation on the simulator, adds a task description and an author information, and selects if the new task should appear as part of the Tempo or the Sinus module. The new task has the same look and feel as the pre-defined tasks, and is available to all users of the simulator. Based on the master preparation which serves as a reference, the simulator even provides an automatic skills assessment with task fulfillment, injuries, time used, and a video capture of the session.
The authoring system for surgical training tasks is part of the upcoming VOXEL-MAN ENT 2016 software update.
